Although I agree with what you wrote after a certain time using it, creating and editing waves there are several concerns that if not addressed rapidly may put the concept in danger of remaining just that: a concept. It is incredibly difficult to get simple things done e.g in order to make a wave public one has to add a public contact that reads "public@a.gwave.com". Can it be less instinctive? It's not yet possible to remove a contact from a wave one might have added by accident? Hello! My point is: wave was released too soon (hence basic features still lacking) while common sense was obviously overlooked when others were worked on. Don't get me wrong though, what you wrote makes perfect sense in that wave is clearly meant at addressing what other apps, be they e-mail ou wiki, are not good at but it needs to dramatically improve for a chance to become mainstream.

@lelapin Yes, I'm surprised to see some of these oddities that were present in the Developer Preview still there in the somewhat public Beta. I had assumed these would be replaced by more user friendly methods, and I'm sure they will be.
In many ways, this is still an Alpha or Preview release, meaning there are still some fairly significant changes to be made before a real public release. Google has made the term Beta meaningless with it's endless production runs tagged as Betas. As a result, people using Wave will expect it to be like GMail was in Beta. And so, you may be right, Google may be shooting themselves in the foot with such an early release.

After watching the hour video and getting an account, the biggest thing missing in my view is that it only talks to a small number of email addresses. I realize that the full benefit is realized when those you are working with have Wave accounts, but I'd like to use some of the organizational capabilities now and be able to send email to extenal domains.
